There's technically no such thing as a "lifetime" code. I could generate them but it's technically false advertising.

All a "lifetime" code is an FSC code with a modified upgrade index, which may allow you to load a few years worth (but definitely not lifetime) of map updates without getting a new code.

However, if BMW catches on and changes their index sequencing, you're left with a code that no longer works and you're at the mercy of the FSC seller to give you a new code. Many of which would have no incentive to do so because they already have your money.

Also, if you take your vehicle into the dealership and they scan the car, ISTA will cancel the FSC code because it technically doesn't exist and then you're left explaining to your dealership about the FSC code and give them an avenue for them to cancel the warranty on the CIC unit.

IMHO, "lifetime" codes are just a money grab to get more money from people without caring what the long term effects on the people they sell the codes to are.

I keep all codes as OEM as possible to eliminate any possible issues.
